Cellular Services

Globalstar: the world's only satellite AND cellular phone.
The Globalstar handset is three phones in one with built-in technology to easily access 800 MHz CDMA cellular, analog cellular, and the Globalstar digital satellite system. With the satellite antenna down, Globalstar automatically searches for a connection to the local analog or digital CDMA cellular networks. If cellular services are unavailable, just lift the Globalstar system antenna, and the phone will automatically seek the Globalstar satellite network.

The Difference Between a Cellular Call and a Globalstar Satellite Call
Globalstar satellite service is specifically designed for use in locations where traditional phone networks are unavailable or unreliable. For example, inside a building or in an urban city, you could use standard cellular phone service. When at work or play in a remote area, just pop up the Globalstar satellite antenna for access to the unparalleled reliability and clarity of Globalstar.

Never miss a call!
Here's a helpful tip. If your cellular service provider offers "No Answer Call Forwarding", you should consider forwarding your unanswered calls to your Globalstar satellite number. If you're outside of the cellular service area, and in Globalstar mode, you can then answer calls to your cellular number using the Globalstar satellite network. If your Globalstar phone is off or not in Globalstar mode, and you use Globalstar Voicemail, callers to your cellular number can then leave a message for retrieval at your convenience.

Activating Cellular Service on you Globalstar phone
You can easily activate cellular service on your new Globalstar phone with Verizon Wireless, Globalstar's preferred cellular carrier. In areas where there is no Verizon Wireless coverage, refer to the attached table for an alternate service provider. The cellular portion of your new Globalstar phone operates on CDMA and analog 800MHz technologies. If CDMA service is not available in your area, analog service will be adequate. Only certain cellular carriers in your area support these services. Some states do not offer compatible cellular service. Once cellular service has been successfully loaded on your Globalstar phone, you will have separate cellular and satellite phone numbers and bills.
